With a long history as a boot-makers and then an antiques shop this period property located in a conservation area in North London is now a family home. The client’s brief was to come up with an internal re-design along with some external renovations, that would maintain the exterior appearance and structural history of the building while enabling it to work as a modern family home.
The project relocates the bathroom from the ground to the first floor, opens up the ground floor including improved access to the courtyard, rebuilds the existing rear lean-to in order to extend the kitchen area, and makes some changes to the first floor layout including the improvement of an en-suite bathroom and improved access to one of the bedrooms.
